Products and technologies are developed world wide at
an accelerating pace and it is critical to either stay up to speed or
come up to speed on these technologies very quickly. OSCI Inc.
short courses are designed to enable you to ramp up to speed on a
particular optical science subject very quickly. Our courses are
used by all functional areas on teams, such as R&D, development
engineers, marketing, finance, supply chain, call centers, technicians,
and managers, to raise the common foundation of knowledge in a
particular technology area.

Introduction
to Optical Alignment with Lasers
Introduction to Optical Alignment with
Lasers (IOAL) DVD course is specifically for professional
engineers, scientists, technicians and managers who want and
need to have a better understanding of aligning optical
systems using lasers. These people want to accelerate
their learning curve and come up to speed quickly on this
subject.
Top
10 Laws of Optics
A must know and must have DVD course for
serious optical engineers or others who work with optics,
optical instruments, optical components and need to
understand the basic key principles of how light interacts
with optical elements.
Optics
of Digital Projectors
The DVD or Live course will teach you the
fundamentals of the optical path from the light source to
the screen. You will learn the optical elements names,
functions, and common optical layout configurations of
digital projector optical paths. The radiometry of
energy transfer from the light source fireball to the
projection screen is covered. This comprehensive
course has been well received by our customers world wide.
Color
in Digital Projectors
This DVD course covers the two color paths, electronic
and optical, that converge to achieve colors on the screen of a digital
projection system. For a digital projector display system these
two paths are complicated and complex. In this course we teach you
the details of both the color electronic signal path from the digital or
analog source to the screen and the optical color path from the light
source through the optical light engine to the screen.

Instructor
For the last 10 years,
Mr. Michael Pate has developed and taught optical training courses
to professionals worldwide at Fortune 500, 100, 50, and start-up
companies. His visually oriented teaching style is backed-up
with clear, non-complicated explanations of difficult technical
optical subjects and concepts. These instruction techniques
combined with his interactive teaching style, along with some humor,
enable clients to leap up the complex learning curve of optical
alignment with lasers.
Mr. Pate is the
President and Founder of OSCI Inc., an optical engineering training
and technical consulting firm. He holds a Masters Degree in
Optical Sciences from the Optical Science Center at the University
of Arizona, and an Executive MBA from the University of California,
Irvine. Mr. Pate has over 23 years of optical engineering
experience including new product development of optical instruments,
R&D, optical system design and analysis, illumination design and
analysis, optical manufacturing, optical component and system
testing, optical alignment, thin films, and radiometric design and
analysis.
His
strategic and technical consulting
encompasses illumination projects in industries such as: automotive,
medical/dental, architectural, aviation, entertainment, and consumer
electronics. Mr. Pate continues developing optical training
courses for professionals and teaching illumination design at
University of Arizona and worldwide. He holds 30 patents with
